Astro Boy

Great cast of characters for the voices. They did a pretty good job of modernizing the character. Lots of action as expected. I think the rating should have been PG-13 because of one scene and because the subject matter got a little heavy.

DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE OR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW A KEY PIVOT POINT OF THE MOVIE.

The scientist son accidentally gets incinerated during the testing of a military robot. The showed the son right before the blast and then they showed the room engulfed in flames. This was immediately followed by the room being showed with no sign of the boy except his baseball cap. The the loss of his son the scientist goes a little nuts and builds a robot that looks like his son. He rounds out the robot by programming all his sons attributes and memories into the robot. It would have been better to take the pinochio approach on this one. Puppet master creates puppet and then teaches him to act like a boy.
